C.D.M.S. were engaged as Principal Designer and Client CDM Advisor by Honda of the UK Manufacturing to support in the safe decommissioning of their prestigious manufacturing site in Swindon, Wiltshire. C.D.M.S. connected with Honda following many years of CDM Services provided to their project team, however, due to the nature and size of the project, the role of Principal Designer was put out to tender in which C.D.M.S. returned all necessary quotation information and successfully navigated the tender interview process to be named the Principal Designer for this flagship project.
The works consisted of full isolation, decommissioning, removal, packaging and shipment of key engineering equipment from the production line from full Press lines (A&B) to the RODIP paint dipping line. Removal of the equipment needed to be achieved with tight deadlines due to the sale of second-hand equipment and oversees shipping obligations. The project peaked at over 150 decommissioning operatives on site daily. C.D.M.S. transitioned well into the existing HUM project team by appointing a key account manager to allow for a robust working relationship between the CDM Client (Honda) and the Principal Designer, resulting in the right questions being asked at the right times and inevitably providing the safest and most efficient strategy for removal of the required equipment.
